As previously released:
On December 13, 2020, at 12:24 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to Arlington Street and Notre Dame Avenue for a report of a male that had been shot.
Upon arrival, officers located an injured male in his 40’s on the road. The victim was subsequently transported to hospital in unstable condition and later downgraded to critical condition.
Two male suspects were arrested in the area and remain in police custody. No charges have been laid at this time.
Members of the Major Crimes Unit continue to investigate.
Update:
The victim in this incident has since been upgraded to critical but stable condition.
Upon further investigation, the Major Crimes Unit have established that the victim and the co-accused were not known to each other before the incident.
While in the area of Arlington Street and Notre Dame Avenue, the three males became involved in a verbal argument that ultimately ended with the victim being shot.
A 20-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with 11 firearm and assault-related offences. His name is not being released at this time, as the investigation is still on-going.
A 15-year-old male of Winnipeg has also been charged with three firearm and assault-related offences.
Both accused were detained in custody.
