Fail to Appear for Sentencing – Arrest: C18-14394

Released: November 13, 2020 at 8 a.m.

On January 20, 2018, members of the Winnipeg Police Service’s Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in the West St. Paul area and arrested Jared Irving, a 35-year-old male.

Investigators seized 1.4 kilograms of methamphetamine, and at the time of his arrest, he was actively dumping what was believed to be methamphetamine into a hot tub. Also seized from the residence was a .38 calibre handgun with ammunition.

Irving was subsequently convicted in the Manitoba Court of Queen’s Bench of:

- Possession of Meth for the Purpose of Trafficking.
- Possession of Firearm/Ammunition while Prohibited (x2)

On August 12, 2019, Irving failed to appear for his sentencing, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

The Winnipeg Police Service’s Biker Enforcement Unit (BEU) began an investigation into Irving’s whereabouts. With the assistance of the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) of British Columbia, Irving was found to be residing in Kelowna, BC.

On October 27, 2020, Irving was arrested by members of the CFSEU-BC. He had attempted to flee from officers; however, he was taken into custody with the assistance of the South East District Emergency Response Team. Two members with the BEU subsequently flew out to BC and transported Irving back to Winnipeg, where he remains in custody at this time.
