Winnipeg Police Homicide detectives have laid charges in the murder of Dennis Beardy. Beardy was killed on October 21, 2020, at an address in the 600 block of Ellice Avenue.
On October 25, 2020, Central District General Patrol officers arrested a suspect in this homicide.
Sidney Sheldon Rene RACETTE, 35, has been charged with:
- Second Degree Murder
- Assault Peace Officer x 2
- Disarm Peace Officer
- Resist Peace Officer
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
He was detained in custody.
As previously released:
On October 21, 2020, at approximately 4:45 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of an injured male in the 600 block of Ellice Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers located a deceased adult male.
Update:
The deceased victim has been identified as Dennis Tougas Beardy, a 20-year-old male of Winnipeg.
