On October 11, 2020, at 12:18 a.m., a Central District Community Support unit was in the area of St. Matthews Avenue and Toronto Street when two males were observed – one of which was armed with a firearm. Both males immediately fled on foot.
Officers gave chase and subsequently located both suspects in the 300 block of Toronto Street. One male was taken into custody just outside of a residence, and the other fled inside. A standoff ensued, and soon after, two occupants exited the house and were taken into custody.

Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation, and a search of the residence resulted in the seizure of numerous items, including a loaded sawed-off .22 calibre rifle, a large amount of .22 calibre ammunition and a ballistic vest.
