Firearms – Arrest: C20-6506

Released: January 10, 2020 at 8 a.m.

On January 9, 2020, at approximately 11:48 p.m., members of the Guns & Gangs Unit were patrolling the 600 block of Redwood Avenue when they encountered a male that was known to them.

While speaking to the male, officers determined the male was armed with a firearm. He was placed under arrest and safely taken into custody after a brief struggle. A loaded sawed-off .410 break-action shotgun was seized from him.

Keith Erlin Chartrand, a 40-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:

- Possession of Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order (x5)
- Possession of a Prohibited Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized (x5)
- Carrying Concealed Weapon

He was detained in custody.
