Weapons – Arrest: C19-261727

Released: December 17, 2019 at 8 a.m.

On November 6, 2019, Winnipeg Police received a report of a shot fired inside the Windsor Hotel located at 187 Garry Street. Central District General Patrol officers responded and determined the following:

During a dispute in the lounge area a 35-year-old female was struck with the butt-end of a shotgun by an male. The suspect then pointed the shotgun as the female who batted it away using her arm. The shotgun was then discharged into a suite door.

The suspect fled prior before officers arrived, but left behind a large bag. The bag was seized and found to contain the following items:

  • Loaded Cooey sawed-off shotgun
  • Mossberg 410 gauge sawed-off shotgun
  • Loaded Savage model 64, .22 cal rifle
  • Several rounds of .22 cal ammunition and 12 gauge shotgun shells

On December 11, 2019, the suspect male was located in the 300 block of Aberdeen Avenue and taken into custody.
Randall Preston BOURASSA, a 31-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:

  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Discharge a Restricted Firearm or a Prohibited Firearm with Intent
  • Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Possess Weapon x 3
  • Possess Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized x 3
  • Possess Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm x 2
  • Possess Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 5

He was detained in custody.
