Submit your edible creations for Books2Eat at Millennium Library

Released: March 30, 2017 at 2 p.m.

Winnipeg, MB - Winnipeggers are invited to attend Books2Eat and take part in a creative culinary competition on April 8, 2017 at the Millennium Library.

Books2Eat is an annual event that combines the creative talents of book lovers and chefs. To mark the event, Millennium Library is offering free food-inspired activities open to the public from noon to 3:30 p.m., including a workshop on 3D printing, making music with fruit, a scavenger hunt, and a ‘tasty’ story time.

This year, members of the public are invited to participate in a competition to create their own edible work of art inspired by books in one of three categories: families, student groups, and open (adults). The edible art can refer to a title, scene or character, look like a book or book cover, or just have something to do with books. The only rule is that the creation must be made entirely of edible materials (raw or cooked). All the categories will be judged by a panel of three celebrity judges based on the following criteria: Originality and Creativity; Skill and Construction; Tie-in with Literary Work being Depicted.

To register your edible creation visit winnipeg.ca/library or call 204-986-6779 before Monday, April 3. Entries must be dropped off at Millennium Library on Friday, April 7 between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., or on Saturday, April 8 between 10:00 a.m. and noon.
