Fall intake for Community Centre Applications

Winnipeg, MB - Mayor Sam Katz today invited City community centres to submit funding applications by Friday, November 1, 2013 for the Community Centre Renovation Grant Program's fall intake.

“Community centres provide people of all ages with the opportunity to pursue a healthy lifestyle,” said Mayor Sam Katz. “This program ensures volunteer-run boards have assistance to complete repairs so they can focus on programming priorities.”

Since the program’s inception, community centres have received $1.3 million in renovation dollars. The purpose of the program is to provide a funding source for renovations up to $50,000, allowing volunteer staff to focus on programming rather than finding the funds to maintain flooring, doors or ceilings.
