NEW - Recycling and garbage now collected every Thanksgiving holiday

WINNIPEG, MB - October 5, 2012 - Residents with Monday as their new weekly recycling and garbage collection day are reminded to roll out their carts before 7:00 a.m. on Thanksgiving Monday, October 8, 2012. Yard waste will also be collected on Thanksgiving Monday. Residents should refer to their collection calendar to confirm their yard waste collection dates.

The new recycling and garbage collection program launched this week for all single-family properties features three service improvements:

  1. Residents will get collection every week of the year.
  2. There will be collection on all but three statutory holidays - Remembrance Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. If these holidays fall on a weekday, residents may have collection one day later for that week only.
  3. Residents can now put their yard waste at the curb and it will be collected once every two weeks, from April to November, on the same day of the week that the recycling and garbage carts are emptied.

Residents can find their new recycling, garbage and yard waste collection days by:
