In effect from Friday, August 17 at 7:00 p.m. toMonday, August 20 at 6:00 a.m.

WINNIPEG, MB - August 16, 2012 - All northbound and southbound lanes of the Disraeli Bridge will be completely closed to vehicular traffic from Friday, August 17 at 7:00 p.m. to Monday, August 20 at 6:00 a.m.

The southbound lanes will be closed to allow concrete to be poured on the new bridge. The northbound lanes will be closed for the first phase of the construction of the pedestrian overpass.

Suggested alternate routes in the immediate area are the Redwood Bridge, Provencher Bridge and Louise Bridge.

The bridge sidewalk will continue to be open to pedestrian traffic during this closure. For Winnipeg Transit re-routing, visit winnipegtransit.com or contact 311.

Midwinter Avenue from Talbot Avenue west of the Disraeli Bridge to approximately 100 feet east of the existing bridge structure will also be reopened to traffic on Friday, August 17.

The new Disraeli Bridges will replace the 50-year-old structures that span the Red River and the Canadian Pacific Railway main line, and will rejuvenate a critical piece of Winnipeg's transportation infrastructure.
