City of Winnipeg to revert to regular operating hours for outdoor pools

WINNIPEG, MB - August 13, 2012 - With cooler evening temperatures being experienced in Winnipeg, the City is returning to regular operating hours for outdoor pools effective tomorrow, Tuesday, August 14.

Due to extremely hot and humid conditions earlier this summer, five outdoor pools had their hours extended to 8:00 p.m. on July 11.

On July 5, operating hours were extended at nine spray pads throughout the city. Those hours (11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.) will remain in place until the end of the season, which is September 3. Spray pads operate on timers and do not require anyone to staff them.

Wading pool hours have remained unchanged.
