Spring yard waste depots open today
WINNIPEG - March 23, 2012 - Starting today, March 23, 2012, residents can recycle their yard waste by dropping it off at any of the Leaf It With Us depots, seven days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The yard waste will be composted into a reusable soil-like material and used to landscape finished landfill areas.
The depots accept only:
- bagged leaves, lawn thatch, grass clippings, plants, flowers and other garden material,
- tree clippings, small branches (no more than 10 centimetres or 4 inches in diameter and must be bundled and tied).
The depots do not accept sand, street sweepings or garbage of any kind, including animal waste.
The following depots are open until May 7, 2012

Residents can take bagged or loose yard waste to Brady Road Landfill year round. Landfill disposal fees are not charged for loads solely of yard waste.
