Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to two overnight structure fires.
Archibald Street fire
At 12:39 a.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, the WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a fire in a vacant, single-storey commercial/industrial warehouse in the 0 to 100 block of Archibald Street. The fire was first reported by on-duty members of the Winnipeg Police Service.
When WFPS crews arrived, they found heavy smoke coming from the building. Firefighters launched a defensive fire attack using an aerial ladder and handlines. The fire was declared under control at 1:31 a.m. No injuries were reported.
The fire is under investigation.
Damage estimates are not available. The building was damaged by previous fires, in May 2025 and November 2023.
Anyone who sees someone actively entering a vacant building, or removing boards from windows or doors from a building, should call 911 to report the incident immediately.
If you notice boarded windows or doors that have been breached, but you do not see someone actively entering or trying to enter the building, report the incident to 311 by phone or online.
Main Street fire
At 4:56 a.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, WFPS crews responded to reports of a fire in a single-storey office building in the 1700 block of Main Street.
Upon arrival on scene, firefighters found smoke coming from the building. They entered and launched an interior fire attack. The fire was declared under control at 5:36 a.m.
A search of the structure was completed, and no occupants were found. There were no injuries reported.
The fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available.
