Small commercial customer use of 4R Winnipeg Depots

Small commercial customers who reduce, reuse and recycle materials similar to that of a residential household, using vehicles no larger than a dual axle truck, can apply to use the household hazardous waste and blue cart recyclables areas at 4R Winnipeg Depots for an annual fee.

Accepted materials

Approved small commercial customers may only use the household hazardous waste and blue cart recyclables areas at 4R Winnipeg Depots. Only the following materials will be accepted:

Household hazardous waste (applicable items must be in their original containers):

  • Household chemicals
  • Propane tanks
  • Herbicides/pesticides
  • Oil
  • Fluorescent lights
  • Paint volume – not industrial
  • Flammable liquids
  • Batteries

Blue cart recyclables (all containers must be empty, including cardboard boxes):

  • Newspaper
  • Cardboard
  • Metal cans
  • Household paper
  • Plastic containers
  • Glass bottles/jars

Regulations

Approved small commercial customers must follow these regulations:

  • All fees associated with the application must be paid annually
  • Follow all regulations of the Solid Waste By-law and all other City of Winnipeg bylaws
  • Provide any changes to Solid Waste, including changes to license plates and change of ownership
  • Only accepted materials can be brought to the household hazard waste and blue box recycling areas
  • No items can be brought to the divertibles areas at 4R Winnipeg Depots
  • Vehicles must be no larger than a dual axle truck
  • The City of Winnipeg can revoke the application (non-refundable) for failure to comply with rules and regulations of facility

Small commercial customers can apply:

  • By dropping off an application form between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, to:

  • By mailing or dropping off an application form between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, to:
    • 1120 Waverley Street, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0P4
  • By fax to 204-774-6729
