Sunday/Holiday Bicycle Routes

There are four streets in the City of Winnipeg designated as Sunday/Holiday Bicycle Routes.

Sunday/holiday bike routes are in place on Sundays and holidays from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. During this time, motor vehicle traffic will be restricted to a distance of not more than one block.

Signs are posted on all approach roadways as notification that motorists are entering a Sunday/holiday bicycle route. Signs are also posted at the end of the routes advising motorists that they are leaving the Sunday/holiday bicycle route. Barricades will be placed at the beginning and end of the routes to remind motorists that vehicle through-traffic is limited to one block on these routes. A violation of the Sunday/holiday bicycle route rules as outlined in the Traffic By-law may result in a fine.
