Winnipeg, MB – On Wednesday, August 19, 2026, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to three structure fires.
Geraldine Drive fire
At 2:29 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a house in the 100 block of Geraldine Drive.
At the scene, crews found heavy smoke coming from the house. Firefighters attacked the fire, switching between offensive and defensive strategies as conditions changed. Crews used an aerial ladder to spray water from above. Firefighters declared the fire under control at 3:45 a.m.
All occupants safely self-evacuated before crews arrived. No injuries were reported.
The fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
Lake Village Road fire
At 5:05 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a duplex in the 100 block of Lake Village Road.
At the scene, crews found a working fire. Firefighters attacked the fire and they declared it under control at 5:28 a.m.
Firefighters helped occupants get out of the building. No injuries were reported.
The fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
Ross Avenue West fire
At 7:23 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a house in the 1600 block of Ross Avenue West.
At the scene, crews found heavy black smoke coming from the house. Firefighters attacked the fire with an offensive strategy, while other crews protected nearby buildings from fire spread.
Firefighters declared the fire under control at 8:54 a.m. No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
