Winnipeg, MB – Since yesterday, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) has responded to three structure fires.
Seel Avenue fire
At 11:09 p.m. on Sunday, May 31, 2026, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a commercial building in the 1500 block of Seel Avenue.
At the scene, crews found flames and smoke coming from the building. Firefighters attacked the fire using aerial ladders and a defensive strategy until it was safe to use an offensive strategy.
Firefighters declared the fire under control at 2:54 a.m. During the response, paramedics transported one firefighter to hospital in stable condition. The fire is under investigation.
William Newton Avenue fire
At 2:11 a.m. on Monday, June 1, 2026, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a house under construction in the 300 block of William Newton Avenue.
At the scene, crews saw smoke and flames coming from the house. Firefighters used an offensive attack and declared the fire under control at 3:03 a.m.
No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation.
Argyle Street fire
At 5:25 a.m. on Monday, June 1, 2026, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a house in the 0-100 block of Argyle Street.
At the scene, crews found smoke coming from the house. Firefighters attacked the fire, switching between offensive and defensive attacks as the situation changed.
Firefighters declared the fire under control at 6:35 a.m. No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation.
