Winnipeg, MB – Crews have stopped water from flowing at the site of the North End Wastewater Treatment Plant water main break.
The water main was damaged this afternoon while crews installed new underground piping. We anticipate it will take several days to determine exactly how the accident occurred.
Customers in the area have water service; however, they may continue to experience discoloured water.
Main Street remains closed in both directions between Seaforth Avenue and Chief Peguis Trail. Crews are on-site removing water and ice and applying traction control to the roadway surface.
We will reopen the roads as quickly as possible.
