Winnipeg, MB – Since last night, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) has responded to two structure fires.
Mathers Bay West
At 8:28 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a house on Mathers Bay West.
At the scene, crews found smoke coming from the house. Firefighters attacked the fire and declared it under control at 9:16 p.m.
Everyone got out of the building safely before crews arrived. Paramedics assessed one patient and no transportation to hospital was required.
Preliminary observations suggest the fire was accidental and caused by a clothing dryer in the home. No damage estimates are available.
Invermere Street
At 2:35 a.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a house on Invermere Street.
At the scene, firefighters found flames and smoke coming from the house. Firefighters attacked the fire, declaring it under control at 3:46 a.m.
Everyone got out of the house safely before crews arrived. No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
