Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to two recent structure fires.
Mulvey Avenue fire
At 8:47 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2025, the WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a four-storey apartment building in the 600 block of Mulvey Avenue.
Upon arrival on scene, firefighters found smoke coming from the building. They entered and launched an interior fire attack. The fire was declared under control at 9:03 p.m. Damages were contained to the suite where the fire originated.
Some occupants of the building self-evacuated and some were evacuated by firefighters.
Firefighters rescued one cat from the building. The cat was revived using special animal masks and oxygen at the scene, before being turned over to tenants. No other injuries were reported.
The fire is under investigation. Damages estimates are not available.
Arlington Street fire
At 1:54 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a commercial structure in the 1400 block of Arlington Street.
When crews arrived at the scene, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the building. Firefighters launched a defensive fire attack. Once the flames were knocked down, they were able to enter the building and transition to an interior fire attack. The fire was declared under control at 2:56 a.m.
Crews completed a search of the building, and no occupants were found. There were no injuries reported.
The fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available.
