Winnipeg, MB – At 1:33 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in three-storey apartment building on Gaylene Place. The reports indicated that occupants were trapped inside the building.
When crews arrived at the scene, they found flames coming from the building. One individual had already jumped from a window of the suite where the fire originated. Using a ladder, crews rescued another individual who was hanging from the window.

Occupants from other suites self-evacuated from the building. A Winnipeg Transit bus was deployed to the scene to provide shelter to them.
Paramedics transported three individuals to hospital, two in critical condition and one in stable condition. Another individual was assessed at the scene but did not require transport to hospital.
The fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available.
