Boat Launching Facilities
Boat Launches in the City of Winnipeg are closed. City boat docks will not be installed at North Perimeter, Maple Grove Park and St. Vital Park due to high river levels.
Please be aware that the river level is extremely high and floating debris can damage or capsize your vessel. Please do not go on the river.

Winnipeg's Red River Boat Launches

North Perimeter Park
- Launch is CLOSED (docks are removed)
- Located at Main Street at the Perimeter -
- Features dock, ramp and parking for vehicles with trailers
- St. Vital Park,
- Launch is CLOSED (docks are removed)
- 190 River Road
- Features dock, ramp and parking for vehicles with trailers.
- Maple Grove Park,
- Launch is CLOSED (docks are removed)
(use extreme caution at rivers edge when launching)- Located at South St. Mary's Road at the Perimeter Highway
- Features dock, ramp and parking for vehicles with trailers.
- Buchanan Marine Boat Launch
- (formerly known as Louise Bridge) CLOSED for 2012 (damage on ramp at river level)
- Located at the Southeast end of Louise bridge
- Features ramp and parking for vehicles with trailers
Things to consider when planning your boat trip:
- Docks and launch facilities depend on River Levels
(Call the water safe line - 311 if you have any questions or concerns about river levels). Use boat launches at your own risk. - Docks and ramps are open in the summer months during park hours (7am - 11pm)
- There is no charge for city operated boat launch facilities
