Traffic Signs
Playground and School Zone Signs
The Playground Signs may be used to indicate sections of roadway adjoining or approaching public playgrounds containing play stucture equipment where the presence of children on or near the roadway would be expected by the motorist.
Playground Signs are installed on sections or streets approaching or abutting playgrounds with playground equipment or at community skate parks.
School Areas
Where a school abuts a street, advance warning signs will be provided, warning motorists that an area is being approached where children may be walking along or crossing the roadway.
Guidelines/Procedures
- School Area Signs will only be utilized on streets abutting schools
- School Area Signs will not be installed for mini schools or day cares. these cases involve very young children who should not be crossing the street unless acompanied by an adult.
