2019 Consultation Process
In 2019, the Winnipeg Police Board co-hosted events with organizations to expand its’ reach into the community and meet with citizens in their neighbourhoods. A focus group provided the opportunity to gather information through a facilitated discussion with a select group willing to express their opinions. Board members and staff continued to attend forums throughout the year hosted by the Winnipeg Police Service to promote awareness of the Board and listen to feedback from community members.
In addition, the Board received input from:
- Municipal and Provincial government representatives
- Community members who reached out to the Board directly
- Community members referred to the Board by City Councillors
- Citizens who provided written submissions to the Board
Consultation Results
The Board annually publishes a report on the input it receives. This feedback informs the Board’s work on its strategic Plan for the Winnipeg Police Service.
