On January 24, 2023, at approximately 3:25 a.m., a West District General Patrol unit was travelling on North Dame Avenue in the Weston area when they observed an SUV pass by them. The officers recognized that the vehicle matched the description of an outstanding stolen vehicle and began to follow it.

As they checked the SUV’s licence place, which showed belonging to a different vehicle, it stopped near a residence in the first 100 block of Worth Street, and the occupants rushed inside.

The unit subsequently confirmed it was the outstanding stolen vehicle – taken on December 27, 2022, after it had been left unattended and running in the McMillan neighbourhood.

Two suspects were arrested (inside the residence), and a search of the stolen vehicle resulted in the seizure of a loaded 12-gauge pump-action shotgun.
