The Winnipeg Police Service Major Crimes Unit began investigating a series of commercial robberies that began on December 16, 2020.

- December 16, a gas bar in the 2100 block of St. Marys Road was robbed where a gun was displayed at 8:50 p.m.
- December 17, a gas bar in the 400 block of Sage Creek Boulevard was robbed where a gun was displayed at 11:40 p.m.
- December 18, a gas bar in the 200 block of Marion Street was robbed where a knife was brandished at 6:10 p.m.
- December 18, a gas bar in the 300 block of Provencher Boulevard was robbed where a knife was brandished at 6:20 p.m.
- December 18, a gas bar in the 1900 block of Main Street was robbed where a knife was brandished at 6:45 p.m.
- December 18, a gas bar in the 2500 block of Main Street was robbed where a knife was brandished at 6:55 p.m.
- December 18, a gas bar in the 600 block of Kildare Street was robbed where a knife was brandished at 7:25 p.m.
- December 19, a gas bar in Grunthal, Manitoba, was robbed where a gun was displayed at 5:45 p.m.
- December 19, a gas bar in the 600 block of Archibald Street was robbed where the suspect implied he had a weapon at 6:55 p.m.
- December 19, a convenience store in the 700 block of Corydon Avenue was robbed where a gun was displayed at 7:15 p.m.

None of the victims were injured.

On December 19 at approximately 7:25 p.m., officers from the Tactical Support Team observed a vehicle leaving the area of the Corydon robbery and followed it until it was stopped in traffic. As officers approached the vehicle, it drove over the boulevard and fled at a high rate of speed. The suspect vehicle was pursued to the city limits, however, the pursuit was aborted due to the speeds involved. RCMP were alerted to the suspect vehicle.

On December 20, RCMP arrested a 19-year-old male in the RM of Hanover in relation to this investigation. The suspect vehicle was also located and seized. Two 17-year-olds were subsequently in the RM of Hanover and Steinbach by RCMP and WPS Major Crimes Unit Officers.

On December 21, officers from the Major Crimes Unit and the Tactical Support Team, with assistance from RCMP and St. Anne Police, arrested a fourth suspect – a 17-year-old male.

Detectives from the WPS Major Crimes Unit have laid numerous Armed Robbery charges and related offences against all four accused.

David Michael DUECK, 19, of Steinbach, Manitoba, was remanded into custody.

Two 17-year-olds from Steinbach and one 17-year-old from St. Anne, Manitoba, were also remanded into custody.
