Winnipeg, MB - Animal Services Agency officials are thrilled with the donation of two murals by young local artists that brighten up the walls of Winnipeg Animal Services, at 1057 Logan Avenue. Last fall a request went out to Animal Services’ supporters for artists interested in donating their talents and painting two murals at the Logan Avenue facility.
“This project aimed to add some positivity through art in our facility,” said Animal Services’ COO Leland Gordon. “We couldn’t be more thrilled with the murals and would like to thank the artists for their generous donations of time and talent.”
The two artists who volunteered to paint the murals were Danielle Trudeau and Nick Drescher.
Mural unveiling and dog sale
Animal Services will unveil the completed murals on Saturday, April 11 at 1:00 p.m. at Animal Services. Both artists will be on hand to discuss their work.
Animal Services will also have an open house and $99 dog sale for adult dogs on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. to celebrate the mural donations.

About the artists
Danielle Trudeau is a young artist from Winnipeg who grew up surrounded by nature and animals, which is the primary source of inspiration for her work. She is a realism artist that strives to give life and personality to the animals she paints. Danielle works with a variety of mediums including acrylic paint, pastels and ink. Her works can be seen at www.danielletrudeaustudios.com.
Nick Drescher is an illustrator and artist who has lived in the City of Winnipeg his whole life. His work has been described as lighthearted, fun, and zany. He draws most of his inspiration from cartoons from both childhood and adulthood. To further his abilities, he has attended courses at Red River College and the University of Manitoba. He is currently working as a freelance artist for several local bands. His works can be seen by searching “Nickard's Doodles n Doodads” on Facebook.

Animal Services handles more than 10,000 incidents a year. The Agency operates successful adoption, volunteer, and foster programs.
