The Winnipeg Police Service arrested Nejib Abdulrished HASSAN (27), on October 3, 2026, in connection to a January 31, 2022, aggravated assault shooting in the 1100 block of Portage Avenue.

On January 31, at approximately 2:20 p.m., a male suspect was present in the lobby of an apartment building in the 1100 block of Portage Avenue when the 30-year-old male victim exited the elevator into the lobby. Following his arrest, officers located and seized a loaded 9mm Taurus handgun concealed in his waistband.

  • Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Possession pf a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
