Update:

On May 5, 2026, Nathaniel MALIKOV (19) turned himself in to Winnipeg Police Headquarter and was arrested for multiple firearms, drug trafficking, possession of stolen property, and proceeds of crime offences.

MALIKOV was remanded into custody. 

On April 24, 2026, several rounds were fired into a residence on Simcoe Street near St. Matthews venue. Officers responding to the call located a loaded MP40 submachine gun, additional firearms, drugs, cash, and other items consistent with drug trafficking with the residence.

At approximately 12:45 a.m., an unidentified suspect fired several shots into a residence in the 200 block of Simcoe Street. No one inside the residence was injured.

Central District General Patrol officers, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team (TST), attended the residence. Officers observed firearms, drugs, cash, and drug paraphernalia in the residence and arrested two youths found within.

The investigation was turned over to the Major Crimes Unit, and a search warrant was executed at the residence. During the search, officers seized the following items:

  • A loaded 9mm MP 40 submachine gun with a tampered serial number
  • Two bolt-action hunting-style rifles
  • A Glock 9mm handgun
  • A Smith & Wesson Revolver-style handgun
  • 9mm ammunition
  • 12-gauge shotgun shell
  • A machete
  • 26 grams of Cocaine (Estimated Street Value: $2080)
  • 15 grams of Crack (Estimated Street Value: $1,200)
  • $9,683 CDN currency
  • Dime baggies, scales, tin foil and other drug paraphernalia
  • Five cell phones
  • 3D-printed brass knuckles

A 16-year-old and 17-year-old teen have been charged with multiple firearms, drug trafficking, possession of stolen property, and proceeds of crime offences.

Investigators have also identified 19-year-old Nathaniel MALIKOV as a suspect. A warrant for his arrest has been for multiple firearms, drug trafficking, possession of stolen property, and proceeds of crime offences.
