On December 15, 2024, at approximately 9:45 p.m. an off-duty officer observed a commercial break and enter in progress to an autobody shop in the 2000 block of Plessis Road.

A Ford E450 (a rental “moving” truck) later determined to be stolen, was attempting to gain access to the shop by driving into the building causing significant damage.

Winnipeg Police Service units attended the area and located the suspect vehicle which subsequently fled from police. The truck continued to evade police and collided with four civilian vehicles near Redwood/Main. Police deployed a tire-deflation device and the truck eventually stopped as it collided with a hydro pole. The three occupants exited the truck and ran from police.

After a short foot pursuit, the three suspects were taken into custody near Boyd/Charles.

No civilian injuries were reported during the motor vehicle collisions.
