As previously released:

Overnight, the Winnipeg Police Service received at least half a dozen reports about THC “Nerds” candy discovered in their children’s Halloween candy. The marijuana edibles that are packaged to look like the popular candy were discovered in children’s bags after trick or treating in the South Tuxedo neighbourhood. The package indicates 600 mg of THC.
THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is a substance found in Cannabis (marijuana). THC is responsible for the way your brain and body respond to cannabis which can include feeling high and intoxication. The potency of THC can vary in different products. The effects of THC on children can be harmful.

Investigators have learned that the THC edibles were packaged along with regular full-size chocolate bars in individual zip bags.

Caregivers are encouraged to check their children’s candy.

Anyone with information or wishing to make a similar report is asked to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 204-986-6219.

If you have discovered a similar THC item, avoid handling the package and set it aside safely for the police.
