In May 2022, the Winnipeg Police Service’s Guns & Gangs Unit began a drug trafficking investigation that was believed to involve individuals at a residence in the Springfield South neighbourhood.

On May 24, 2022, the Guns & Gangs Unit, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team and North District Community Support officers, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1400 block of Molson Street.

Cocaine, methamphetamine, cutting agents (substrates used in trafficking), and four firearms were seized. Included was a 3-D printed handgun and a handgun modified for automatic firing capacity.

The following is a list of seized items:

- loaded Mossburg shotgun
- loaded Remington shotgun
- loaded Glock modified
- loaded 3D printed handgun
- holsters for concealment
- body armour
- 5 ounces of cocaine / 2 grams crack (estimated street value of $10,000)
- 33 grams methamphetamine (estimated street value of $1,700)
- 384 grams of cutting agent
- approximately $30,000 in Canadian currency
- drug packaging materials

Three adults were taken into custody and face more than 80 charges as a result of this investigation.

Cody LATRACE, a 29-year-old male of Winnipeg, was charged with 22 firearms and drug trafficking offences. He was detained in custody.

Mick MIKOLAJCZYK, a 31-year-old male of Winnipeg, was charged with 20 firearms and drug trafficking offences. He was detained in custody.

A 23-year-old female of Winnipeg is facing 17 firearms and drug trafficking offences. She was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
