On October 21, 2026, shortly before 2:00 p.m., member of the Winnipeg Police Service’s Property Crime Unit (PCU) arrested a 45-year-old woman in relation to an organized retail theft investigation.

Earlier this month, investigators received information regarding a series of thefts from a sporting goods store in the 500 block of Sterling Lyon Parkway. The investigation determined that between September 28 and October 15, suspects stole hunting and fishing equipment, electronics, clothing, and other merchandise valued at over $11,500.

Investigators also learned that numerous stolen items had been listed on an online marketplace with some items already sold to unsuspecting buyers.

Through the investigation, PCU members identified one of the suspects and obtained a search warrant for a residence in the 1600 block of Arlington Street.

On October 21, with assistance from the Tactical Support Team and the North District Community Support Unit, investigators executed the search warrant and arrested one suspect without incident.

A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of the following items:

  • Palo 26 Backpack x 2 (Value = $600)
  • Ranchero 4L crossbody bag x 3 (Value = $495)
  • Yeti Hopper (Value = $400)
  • Tactacam Xpro (Value = $420)
  • Sage Fishing Rod (Value = $1,100)
  • Cabela's Vacuum Sealer (Value = $380)
  • Cabela's Vacuum Platform (Value = $55)
  • Eco Gear Defender (Value = 390)
  • Fox Pro X360 (Value = $2,000)
  • 3 x Leatherman Multitools (Value = 910)
  • $440 CDN currency

The recovered property seized during the search is valued at approximately $6,750. Investigators were also able to recover additional items previously sold through an online marketplace, valued at approximately $4,300.

Candyce Leanne PELLETIER (45) is charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000.

She was released on a release order pending further court proceedings.

The Property Crime Unit continues to investigate.
