On September 28, 2026, Central District General Patrol officers responded to the Weston neighbourhood for the report of a sexual assault.
The investigation determined that an adult woman had requested a ride-share service on September 27, 2026. It was reported that when they arrived at the destination, the driver sexually assaulted the woman. She was able to flee to safety from the vehicle and report the incident to police.
Officers identified a suspect. On September 28, 2026, just after 11:30 a.m., he was arrested at an apartment complex in the 400 block of Kennedy Street.
A 27-year-old man is facing a charge of sexual assault and was released on an Undertaking.
