In September 2026, the Organized Crime Unit (OCU), initiated an illicit drug trafficking investigation involving an individual and a residence in the 300 block of Stradbrook Avenue.
On September 22, 2026, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team (TST) and the Central District Community Support Team, officers attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle, but it refused to stop and fled, colliding with another vehicle. The suspect was arrested a short time later after a brief foot pursuit. No injuries were reported as a result of the motor vehicle collision.
Subsequent search warrants were executed on the suspect’s vehicle and a residence in the 300 block of Stradbrook Avenue, resulting in the seizure of the following:
- Three ounces of cocaine (Estimated Street Value = $6,000)
- Approximately $30,000 in Canadian currency
- Approximately $13,000 in counterfeit currency
- Packaging and other illicit drug paraphernalia
- Scale
- Vacuum Sealer
- Fraudulent identification photo ID
- Three cellular telephones
The suspect was released without charges pending further investigation.
On September 25, 2026, OCU located the suspect in the 1100 block of Main Street and he was arrested without incident. Upon his arrest, police seized approximately $3,900 in Canadian currency and a cellular telephone.
A 24-year-old man is facing the following charges:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Possession of Counterfeit Money
- Use of Forged Document
- Possession of a Forged Document with Intent
- Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance
- Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer
He was released on an Undertaking.
