The Winnipeg Police Service’s Property Crime Unit has charged 29-year-old Dylan Lee GUIBEAULT in connection with a series of retail thefts across Winnipeg.
Investigators linked GUIBEAULT to retail thefts reported between February 11 and September 1, 2026:
- February 11: a man entered a retail store in the 1100 block of Grant Avenue; selected merchandise valued at $380 and exited the store without paying
- February 14: a man entered a retail store in the 600 block of Empress Street, selected merchandise valued at $186, and exited the store without paying
- May 9: a man entered a retail store in the 1500 block of Kenaston Boulevard, selected merchandise valued at $246, and exited the store without paying
- May 10: a man entered a retail store in the 2300 block of McPhillips Street, selected a winter jacket valued at $162 and exited the store without paying
- July 5: a man entered a retail store in the 2300 block of McPhillips Street; selected merchandise valued at $160 and exited the store without paying
- July 13: a man entered a retail store in the 800 block of Leila Avenue; selected merchandise valued at $85 and exited the store without paying
- July 14: a man entered a retail store in the 3600 block of Portage Avenue; selected merchandise valued at $372 and exited the store without paying
- July 20: a man entered a retail store in the 1200 block of St. Mary’s Road; selected merchandise valued at $310 and exited the store without paying
- July 28: a man entered a retail store in the 3600 block of Portage Avenue; selected merchandise valued at $432 and exited the store without paying
- August 30: a man entered a retail store in the 2300 block of McPhillips Street; selected merchandise valued at $291 and exited the store without paying
- September 1: a man entered a retail store in the 3600 block of Portage Avenue; selected merchandise valued at $236 and exited the store without paying
On September 1, at 2:30 p.m., a suspect selected a bicycle valued at $340 from a store in the 700 block of St. James Street and attempted to leave without paying. Store security detained the suspect and police were contacted. A hammer was also seized during the arrest.
Attending West District General Patrol officers arrested the suspect without incident and turned him over to Property Crime Unit investigators.
All incidents were captured on the retailer’s security cameras and reported to police. The total loss incurred by the retailer is estimated at $3,200. Through the investigation, investigators linked GUIBEAULT as a suspect in all the above-mentioned incidents.
GUIBEAULT is charged with twelve counts of Theft Under $5,000, Possession of a Weapon, and was detained in custody pending further court proceedings.
