A Winnipeg woman has been charged following a police investigation into reports of long-term harassment, threats and intimidation involving multiple victims.
In July 2026, the Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) launched an investigation after receiving a report from one of the victims. Eleven victims were identified, including family members, former acquaintances, co-workers, members of the media and legal professionals.
The investigation revealed that between 2011 and 2026, hundreds of phone calls, emails, text messages and letters were sent to the victims. On other occasions, the accused randomly attended locations associated with the victims leaving gifts or making attempts to speak to them.
The duration of contact varied by victim, ranging from several months to more than a decade.
On September 3, 2026, the WPS executed a search warrant in the 400 block of Stradbrook Avenue. A woman was taken into custody and electronic devices were seized as evidence.
Agnieszka CIOCHON-NEWTON (58), has been charged with the following offences:
- Criminal Harassment x 7
- Uttering Threats - Cause Death or Bodily Harm x 2
- Break Enter with Intent to Commit Theft
- Attempt Obstruct Justice
- Intimidation of a Justice System Participant
- Publish Defamatory Libel Known to be False
- Public Mischief
She has been detained in custody.
