On July 28, 2026, at approximately 7:00 p.m. an unresponsive man was located at the corner of Main Street and James Avenue. He was transported by the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service to the Health Sciences Centre where he passed away the following day.
His death is not believed to be the result of foul play. The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office along with the Winnipeg Police Service’s Forensic Services Unit (IDENT) and the Manitoba Integrated Missing Persons Coordination Centre have attempted to identify this man through numerous investigative avenues however his identity remains unknown.
A composite sketch has been released to help raise public awareness in hopes of identifying this man and notifying his family.
He is described as follows:
- In his 40’s to 60’s.
- 5’7” in height, with a thinner build.
- Dark hair (recently shaved), with a thin mustache and brown eyes.
- Scars:
- Above left eye (approximately 0.5 inches long) near eyebrow and nose.
- Under the right side ribcage (1-2 inches long).
- Tattoo – older, faded, on his right hand with possible letters ‘MK’ (see image).
- He was wearing light coloured Levi’s blue jeans, grey t-shirt.
- Black steel-toed boots and had an orange and white striped belt.
