On August 3, 2026, just before 6:00 a.m., West District General Patrol officers responded to the area of St James Street and Ness Avenue for the report of a gun.
Officers arrived on scene and determined through investigation that a road rage incident had taken place between two men. The incident began when a man pulled his vehicle next to the one driven by the 53-year-old victim and began a verbal argument over the victim’s manner of driving. This escalated to the point where the suspect brandished a black handgun. The victim fled in his vehicle, but the suspect followed him a short distance and forced the victim to stop his vehicle by pulling in front of him. The suspect got out of his vehicle while still brandishing the black handgun before getting back into his vehicle and fleeing the area when he saw the victim contacting police. The victim was not injured as a result of this incident.
Further investigation identified the suspect, and he was arrested just before 7:30 p.m. at a residence on Beachham Crescent.
A 29-year-old man is facing a charge of Assault with a Weapon and was released on an Undertaking.
