Three men have been charged following a lengthy investigation into the kidnapping of a delivery driver who was held at gunpoint for several hours while suspects stole approximately $25,000 worth of merchandise from a business and storage facility.

On the evening of October 11, 2024, a 22-year-old man was delivering merchandise to a business in the 300 block of Nairn Avenue when he was confronted by a suspect armed with a firearm. The suspect held the firearm to the victim's head and forced him into the rear of an enclosed trailer. The victim's cellular phone and store merchandise were stolen.

The victim was then held at gunpoint under threats of harm to him and his family while suspects transported him to a storage facility in the 1300 block of Notre Dame Avenue. Once there, the victim was forced to provide access codes to a storage unit. Suspects stole an additional approximately $25,000 worth of merchandise from the storage lockers and transported the property to various locations throughout the city while the victim remained confined.

The incident concluded when the victim was dropped off in the 300 block of Nairn Avenue, where the ordeal had begun. No physical injuries were reported.

The victim attended Winnipeg Police Service Headquarters and reported the incident. The Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation and identified three suspects.

On December 20, 2024, Major Crimes Unit investigators, with the assistance of the Canine Unit (K9), Air1, and the Manitoba Integrated Violent Offender Apprehension Unit (MIVOAU), located a then 41-year-old suspect in the 900 block of Sherbrook Street and took him into custody. During the arrest, Air1 flight crew observed him discard a firearm into a garbage bin. The firearm was recovered and determined to have been stolen. Officers also seized approximately 50 cartons of unstamped cigarettes.

On July 31, 2025, Major Crimes Unit investigators, with the assistance of MIVOAU, located a 34-year-old suspect in the area of McPhillips Street and Notre Dame Avenue and took him into custody. During the arrest, investigators seized a knife, approximately five grams of methamphetamine, and 2.5 grams of cocaine with an estimated value of $200.

On July 6, 2026, the Treaty Three Police Service located a 35-year-old suspect in Sabaskong, Ontario. He was transported to the Falcon Lake area, where he was turned over to MIVOAU members, returned to Winnipeg, and subsequently turned over to Major Crimes Unit investigators.
