On June 13, 2026, members of the Winnipeg Police Service arrested two female youths and two female adults after responding to a commercial robbery at a convenience store in the 400 block of St. Anne’s Road.

Shortly before 4:30 a.m., the four suspects attended the convenience store in an intoxicated state. Observing the approaching suspects, the lone clerk locked the doors to the store to prevent them from entering. Angered by the employee’s action, the suspects proceeded to arm themselves with rocks and proceeded to smash a 2008 Honda CR-V in front of the store, causing damages estimated at over $5,000. Two of the suspects turned their attention to the convenience store, smashing the storefront windows, and entering the store. The pair damaged property within the store before all four fled on foot with stolen property before police arrived. Damage to the store is estimated at over $5,000. The clerk was not injured as a result of the incident.

Attending East District General Patrol officers located all four nearby and took them into custody without incident. One of the suspects was transported to hospital in stable condition for an injury sustained from kicking the storefront glass.

Shikyhna KOOSTACHIN (21) is charged with the following offences:

  • Break Enter & Commit Robbery – Place
  • Mischief Over $5,000 x 2
  • Possession of a Weapon
  • Fail to Comply with Sentence x 2
  • Fail to Comply with Condition of Undertaking

KOOSTACHIN was detained in custody.

The three other suspects, aged 14,17, and 20 years, face charges of Break Enter & Commit Robbery and two counts each of Mischief Over $5,000. All three were released on Undertakings to appear in court at a later date.
