In 2026, there were approximately 7,000 school patrols in Winnipeg ensuring our children arrive safely at their schools.

The Winnipeg Police Service has been involved in the School Safety Patrol Program since 1936.  Winnipeg is proud to have had the first fully organized and officially recognized school patrol program in Canada.

On behalf of the Winnipeg Police Service and our community partners at CAA Manitoba, True North Sports & Entertainment and the Manitoba Public Insurance Corporation, we extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all of Winnipeg’s School Safety Patrollers. Thanks for all you continue to do.
