On April 21, 2026, after consultation with Manitoba Prosecution Service, Traffic Division investigators arrested a 33-year-old man in relation to a pedestrian fatality in September 2025. He is facing the following charges and was released on an Undertaking:
- Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance Causing Death
- HTA Drive While Disqualified

In September, 2025, the Winnipeg Police Service issued a media release seeking the public’s assistance regarding a fatal hit and run involving a pedestrian.
On September 16, 2025, a vehicle travelling east on Abinojii Mikanah Boulevard, mounted the curb and struck a woman in her 40s who was waiting at a bus stop near St. Mary’s Road. The vehicle collided into a guard rail and flipped over.
The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition and later succumbed to her injuries.
The driver remained on scene and the Traffic Division assumed the investigation.
