On March 19, 2026, shortly before 8:00 a.m., Property Crime Unit investigators arrested a 37-year-old man in relation to an organized retail theft investigation.
In June of 2025, investigators received information that an individual was recruiting others to steal brand name power tools from home improvement stores, which he would purchase through a third party and resell at a profit. The suspect would routinely use text messaging and social media to converse with the persons recruited to steal.
Investigators identified the suspect and obtained a search warrant for his cellular phone. On December 9, 2025, investigators attended his residence and seized his cellular phone as evidence. He was not charged at this time pending the results of the phone search by the Crime Analysis Unit.
The phone analysis uncovered evidence pertinent to the investigation and on March 19, investigators arrested the man at his residence without incident.
He faces a charge of Trafficking in Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000.
He was released on an Undertaking to appear in court at a later date.
