On March 18, 2026, at 11:35 p.m., Traffic Safety Section officers conducting traffic enforcement, observed a stolen 2016 Hyundai Accent travelling southbound McPhillips Street to eastbound Selkirk Avenue. The Accent had previously been reported stolen on March 5, in the 500 block of Langside Street.

Air1 members took over with visual containment of the Accent which continued to drive dangerously throughout the north end of the city. Assisting North District General Patrol officers successfully deployed a tire deflating device at Jefferson Avenue and Adsum Drive. Shortly after, the Accent collided with a vehicle near Jefferson Avenue and McPhillips Street. The now heavily damaged Accent continued on, but eventually came to a stop on McKenzie Street past Jefferson Avenue. The occupants of the struck vehicle suffered minor injury and were medically cleared at the scene.

At 11:54 p.m., Air1 members observed the woman driver exit the Accent, and guided ground units who took her into custody in the 500 block of Jefferson Avenue.

Regina Trisha OSBORNE (27) is charged with Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance, Operation of a Conveyance While Prohibited by Order Under Criminal Code, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000, and Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

OSBORNE was also arrested on the strength of a warrant for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000. Officers issued numerous Provincial Offences Act notices regarding Highway Traffic Act offences committed during the incident.

OSBORNE was detained in custody.
