On March 11, 2026, members of the Major Crimes Unit arrested 38-year-old Tristan PROVINCIANO and 37-year-old Matthew PLUMRIDGE regarding their involvement in a stolen vehicle and firearm investigation stemming from a November 2025 incident.

On November 23, 2025, at 3:20 p.m., the two men attended a surface parking lot in the 1-99 block of Philip Lee Drive in a stolen 2014 Dodge Ram bearing a stolen Québec license plate and removed an Arizona license plate from a parked 2018 Ford F150.

While still in the parking lot, a late model BMW, came face to face with the Dodge. For unknown reasons, the driver of the Dodge accelerated and rammed the BMW into the parked F150. Both occupants exited the Dodge, with one holding a firearm which he discharged towards the driver of the BMW. All involved parties fled on foot before police arrived. They are believed to be known to one another, and no injuries were reported resulting from this incident.

The firearm, a sawed-off .22 calibre rifle, was later recovered and seized as evidence. Both vehicles were also seized and additional .22 calibre rounds of ammunition were located inside the Dodge.

The Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation, identified PROVINCIANO and PLUMRIDGE, and obtained warrants for their arrests.
