On March 5, 2026, just before 2:00 p.m., officers from the Traffic Division were proactively policing in the West End neighbourhood when they noticed a taxicab travelling westbound on Logan Avenue. A male passenger in the rear of the taxicab was observed to be leaning outside of the window, not wearing their seatbelt, and yelling at a pedestrian at a bus stop.
A traffic stop resulted in officers locating a .22 calibre handgun on one man and a sawed-off shot gun on the other man. One of the men also produced false identification. Both men were arrested without incident, and both firearms were seized by police.
