12 and 14-year-old arrested for a retail stabbing incident: C25-285573

The Major Crimes Unit continued to investigate a violent robbery that occurred on November 26, 2025 in the parking of a retail business in the 2300 block of McGillivray Boulevard. Two youths have since been arrested.

A woman in her 60s was walking back to her vehicle after shopping, when she was confronted by two young females who demanded her purse. When the victim did not initially comply, she was stabbed. The suspects grabbed her purse and ran off. People in the parking lot ran to the victim’s assistance and emergency services was contacted.

The woman was transported to hospital in unstable condition, treated and upgraded to stable condition.

On December 4, 2025, a teenage female who was known to the suspects, reported she was threatened at knifepoint by the females and driven in a stolen vehicle to Brandon, Manitoba. She was let out in Brandon and they drove away.

The pair continued on to Sioux Valley Dakota Nation, and with the assistance of the Virden RCMP were taken into custody on December 5, 2025.

A 14-year-old female was charged with the following:

  • Robbery
  • Possession of a Weapon
  • Forcible Confinement
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
  • Fail to Comply with Sentence x 4
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order x 2

She was detained in custody.

A 12-year-old female is facing the charges of Robbery and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000, and was released on an Undertaking.
