Two men arrested for a stabbing at a St. Vital costume social; gun seized during related search warrant: C25-242389

Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued to investigate a stabbing that occurred at a St. Vital community centre in October. Two people were arrested in relation to the assault and four more during a subsequent search warrant.   

With the assistance of video surveillance and after speaking to numerous witnesses, investigators determined the following:

An altercation between a few men began inside the social event and one of the groups was asked to leave by the organizers. A melee ensued and spilled outside into the parking lot. A female in her 40s attempted to intervene when she was punched and rendered unconscious.

As the fight continued, a male in his 30s was stabbed by two men who were unknown to him.

On November 1, 2025, the Major Crimes Unit with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team executed a warrant at a residence in the 300 block of Selkirk Avenue in relation to this investigation.

Five people were taken into custody and a loaded sawed-off shotgun was seized.

Two men ages 24 and 54, a 20-year-old woman and a 16-year-old youth are all facing firearms-related charges.

They were all released on Undertakings.

A 29-year-old man, Daryan Bryce RUDOLPH, was charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regs
  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Assault Cause Bodily Harm
  • Possession of a Weapon
  • Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order x 5

He was detained in custody.

On November 29, another 28-year-old man was taken into custody and is facing the following charges related to the assault at the community club:

  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Possession of a Weapon

He was released on an Undertaking.

 

As previously released:

A man was stabbed during a fight with some other men outside a costume social on Overton Street.

On October 11, 2025 around 1:00 a.m., General Patrol officers from East District responded to the St. Vital community centre. The victim in his 30s was transported to hospital in unstable condition. He was later upgraded to stable condition.

The suspects fled prior to police arrival and the Major Crimes Unit continues to investigate.
