On November 30, shortly after 11:30 p.m., a member of the Canine Unit assisting West District General Patrol officers and Air1, located and arrested 44-year-old Nicholas Richard GRANDBOIS in the 900 block of Dominion Street following a commercial break-in and theft from a church in the 1000 block of Ellice Avenue.
At 10:30 p.m., officers responded to a commercial alarm at the above-mentioned church for the report of a break-in. When they arrived, officers noted a broken basement window and found a damaged donation box inside the church. Officers learned that GRANDBOIS had fled on foot shortly before they arrived.
Multiple units searched for GRANDBOIS, who was ultimately tracked by Canine members to Dominion Street, where he was arrested without incident. He was found with an undisclosed amount of money on his person which was seized as evidence.
GRANDBOIS is charged with Break Enter & Theft – Place. He was also arrested on the strength of an arrest warrant for Fail to Attend Court.
GRANDBOIS was detained in police custody awaiting disposition.
